Jeanie Anne Meredith was born April 22, 1971. Jeanie passed away when she was two and a half years old, October 3rd, 1973. She would be 37 years old this past April. I asked grandma Meredith about Jeanie and what she was like as a toddler. She told me that Jeanie was always so kind and thoughtful. Back in the day, Relief Society used to be during the week, and before Jeanie died, a nursery worker told DeAnne this little story: DeAnne was at Relief Society and Jeanie had gone to nursery with her little brother Rob. When it was time for the children to have a cookie, Jeanie refused to take one until her baby brother had one first. Jeanie was always like that, thinking of others before herself.

Jeanie loved to play with her dollies and be just like her mommy. When DeAnne would be nursing Rob, Jeanie would sit in her little rocker and nurse her dolls too, and then lay them on the bed and cover them up with a blanket.

One Sunday, Jeanie had done something naughty, and Bob picked her up and started to carry her out of the chapel while Jeanie cried, "Daddy, don't spank me!" all the way out the doors! It was a long walk from their seat to the doors!

Another Sunday the family was sitting happily in their seats during sacrament meeting, when Jeanie let it be known to everyone around (we all know how quiet toddlers are) that she had to go to the bathroom. She pronounced to her dad, "Daddy, I have to take a nore!" "Nore" translates to "manure". At least she didn't say "duke" or "poop" or "terd"! "Nore" sounds much more polite! Even so, Bob and DeAnne were a bit embarrassed by her candidness!
